Located in Summerfield, Village View is one hour from Orlando and an hour and 20 minutes from the gulf or the beach. Village View is at the northern point of the nation’s largest retirement and fastest-growing premier active adult retirement community, filled with a collection of quaint neighborhoods, unique in their charm and personality.
The Tri-county area is rich with outdoor adventures such as parks, lakes, biking, and nature trails. The sunny weather in Summerfield makes it easy to enjoy the area’s natural beauty and abundant outdoor activities. November through April are the most pleasant months, while July through September are the least comfortable. Purpose of the Position (Children’s Pastor):
To provide leadership, vision, and direction that creates a life-giving atmosphere of vibrant and enticing discipleship and evangelism for the children, parents, and children’s ministry team.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
Ability to communicate the Gospel through various means to children at various ages.
Leadership background and experience serving with kids. Heart for children and parents.
Proven ability to lead staff and Volunteer Team.
Project management experience.
Ability to articulate and implement the vision of Village View.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Superior interpersonal skills working with a variety of people, from volunteers to parents to kids.
Solid theological grounding and creativity in kids’ ministry curriculum development.
Positive attitude and positive approach to problem-solving. Must be solution-oriented.
Computer competency in Planning Center, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Pro Presenter 7, etc.
Strong organizational and time management skills and pursuit of excellence through attention to detail.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop integrated training processes for nursery, preschool, kids, and special needs ministry leaders and VVCC team members.
Work closely with ministry leaders to analyze the effectiveness of programming and adjust as needed.
Lead and build teams to execute all aspects of children’s ministry for mid-week and weekend services.
Recruit, develop, and train high-quality leaders for staff and volunteer team roles.
Consistent communication with key leaders and parents.
Oversee all aspects of department administration to include: budget forecasting, purchasing, and departmental account tracking.
Help develop and maintain all security standards.
Track growth for future development.
Oversee and develop the mid-week and weekend experience for all children.
Oversee special event planning, including Easter, Christmas, and Vacation Bible School.
Fulfill pastoral duties, including counseling, baptism, communion, hospital visitation, and general pastoral care.
Oversee and develop all internal and external communication that represents Village View Kids department.
Maintain strong communication and relationship with Direct Report and Senior Pastor to ensure the vision of the Senior Pastor is implemented in all aspects of children’s ministry.
