Oversee the development of Children within the Life Kids department. Oversee all aspects of Kids services and events.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop ministry plan for department.
Develop and manage department budget effectively.
Commend and/or manage behavior of volunteer staff for Life Kids toward Christ-likeness.
Coordinate with the Pastoral Care Pastor on all areas of ministry and spiritual guidance to children and parents.  Fill out a report for each case of spiritual guidance and turn into Pastoral Care Department.
Curriculum planning and development for Life Kids.
Maintain an active list of all the workers and volunteers in the ministry.
Learn the needs of families to whom the church is ministering.
Oversee the selection and use of materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities needed for services/programs for Life Kids.
Recruit new ministry partners, direct them to the connections class for processing and maintain relationship and ongoing training with them.
Coordinate and work with Production department and music department to insure adequate staffing and manning of audio, media and worship.
Coordinate ministry to ensure nurturing and anointed environment for biblical teachings and worship.
Communicate consistently with the Family Ministries Pastor.
Collaborate and coordinate with Production Director and Family Ministries Pastor to create opportunities for the Children’s Ministry to have exposure to the congregation in various formats (video, musicals, dramas, skits, class graduations, and recognition ceremonies).
Attend all staff meetings, chapel, staff prayer, and assigned events.
Communicate and maintain the Pastor’s vision to the children’s department ministry partners and employees.
Keep parents informed and involved through newsletters, social media and bulletins regarding teaching themes, procedures, health standards, and special events.
Create ways of creatively supplementing the budget to provide improved equipment and resources.
Oversee and provide input to curriculum development and direction and development of all LC campus’s.
Oversee the development and growth of the Spanish Kids ministry. Including recruiting and training partners from within that congregation to facilitate ministry.
Coordinate and collaborate with Youth Pastor to provide a cohesive and comprehensive experience for children from birth through to graduation.
Any other tasks and responsibilities that might be assigned by the Sr. Associate Pastor.
Oversees Children’s ministry associates, set their schedules, and monitor their performance regularly.

This position will report directly to the Family Ministries Pastor and indirectly to the Senior Associate Pastor. It is expected that the Children’s Pastor works in close cooperation and collaboration with the Youth Pastor. All paid workers and volunteers working in Life Kids will report directly to the Children’s Pastor. The Children’s Pastor must work closely with other department heads, paid staff, and volunteers.


Hours Expected:

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: From 08:30am to 04:30pm. Wednesday: Flex hours, with a minimum of 8 hours. All weekend services are considered required work hours for this position. This currently includes Saturday evening, Sunday at 9 & 11 and 1pm and Sunday 6pm, the 6pm service is a “sit” service (No specifically assigned responsibilities and an opportunity to receive.)
A one- hour lunch is allocated during normal working hours at own discretion.
