Bethany Assembly of God is located in Agawam, MA. We are a church with an average Sunday morning Sanctuary attendance of 700+. We are a historic church, being older than the Assemblies of God itself! We are looked to as a leading church in Western Massachusetts and are one of the larger congregations in the region. Recently, there has been a change of leadership and there is new vision and new excitement for the future. We are a church known for it’s heart for missions and its missions giving. We are becoming a church known for prayer and for it’s influence on the community.
Bethany exists to glorify God by advancing the good news about Jesus so that lives are transformed as they are filled with the Spirit, marked by baptism, connected in community, and mature in worship.

In the next five years, we will focus on renewing Bethany’s foundation for an overflow of God’s presence in the Pioneer Valley and around the world.
The Worship and Creative Arts Pastor, working under the direciton of the Lead Pastor, will be responsible to develop, implement, and oversee the music, live production, and media ministries of Bethany, providing leadership to promote worship throughout the church and accomplish the mission and vision God has given to the Lead Pastor. The Worship Pastor will help bring unity between our traditional and contemporary services and will help us transition to a more contemporary and more unified style of worship.
The Worship Pastor will be the primary worship leader in all Sunday services and any other services deemed necessary by the Lead Pastor. The Worship Pastor will work to develop worship leaders and worship teams from the congregation to lead in various services and will give oversight, even when not leading directly. The Worship Pastor will encourage those who have the desire and ability to sing/play to use those talents in service to God and the church.
The Worship Pastor will be responsible for conducting the choir, rehearsing, and selecting music. The Worship Pastor will also provide oversight and support for our Junior Choir, working with its leaders in the selection of music and development.
The Worship Pastor will direct, rehearse, and be responsible for all functions of the sanctuary orchestra, which includes Sunday services and special events.
Productions and Special Events
The Worship Pastor will work with the Lead Pastor and the media director in the planning and execution of productions and special events. These will include Easter and Christmas outreach services, as well as any other special events throughout the year.
The Worship Pastor will give oversight to our sound ministry, working with our staff sound engineer to insure the recruitment and training of volunteers, sound coverage in all services and special events, recording of all Sunday and Wednesday services and their appropriate distribution, and the maintenance of all musical instruments and sound equipment. The sound engineer will report directly to the Worship Pastor.
Live Production Responsibilities
The Worship Pastor, in conjunction with our staff media director, will be responsible for overseeing all elements of our live production, including lighting, media, and live streaming. The Worship Pastor will assist our media director in recruiting and training volunteers, the purchase of equipment, and the overall improvement of our live production.
Our staff media director will report directly to the Worship Pastor. The Worship Pastor will be responsible for insuring the quality and improvement of all media elements, including video announcements, social media, graphics…
The Worship Pastor will take primary responsibility for the pastoral care of those in the Worship, Sound, and Media Ministries. The Worship Pastor will help lead the congregation to a deeper hunger for God and heart for worship and will assist in implementing the vision and strategies of the Lead Pastor in and through all aspects of the Worship Ministry.
· A licensed or ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, or willingness to pursue licensure.
· Formal Bible or ministerial degree.
· Formal music degree or training.
· Ability to communicate clearly one-to-one, as well as to small and large groups.
· A leader of leaders.
· Able to work as part of a team.
· Supports the mission of the church and the vision of the Lead Pastor.
· Personable and people smart.
· Ability to play either the piano or guitar helpful.
· Strong singing voice.
· Experience in leading worship in a variety of settings and styles.
· Choral and conducting experience helpful.
