Tornadoes have left miles of devastation across six states. Officials believe at least 70 deaths happened in Kentucky, where many had been trapped inside a flattened candle factory. In Illinois, six lost lives in a roof collapse at an Amazon warehouse in severe storms on Friday. The storms leveled homes, churches and businesses, set buildings on fire and knocked a train with 28 empty rail cars from its tracks.
Convoy of Hope is responding to the tornadic outbreak that occurred this weekend across the South and Midwest. Tornadoes were reported in Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. “Because the destruction is so widespread, Convoy of Hope is working tirelessly to get much-needed resources to multiple locations to help those who need them most,” said Stacy Lamb, Senior Director of Convoy of Hope’s U.S. Disaster Services team.
