Reverend Wayne Blackburn
A native of Winter Haven, Wayne Blackburn is the pastor of Victory Church, one of Florida’s most progressive churches. Victory Church began in 1989 and has more than 5,000 people who call it their church home. The church has completed its fifth building program, one of which was the Sanctuary seating more than 3,000. Pastor Blackburn has led the church with a heart for missions, giving a total of more than ten million dollars in the last eighteen years.
Blackburn formerly served on the Polk County Children’s Task Force, the board of VISTE and the board of HUG. He was the District Executive Secretary, Christian Education and Development Director for the Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God. He also formerly served as a member of the Division of Foreign Missions Board. He now serves as the District Executive Treasurer, the District Missions Director, an Executive Presbyter for the PEN-FL District and a General Presbyter for the General Council of the Assemblies of God International. He is a member of the Assemblies of God Financial Services Board, on the Executive Committee for the Assemblies of God Foundation, serves on the EMERGE Ministries Board, International Media Ministries Board and the CIS Board. He serves on the Assemblies of God General Superintendent’s Cabinet and is a Chaplain for the Polk County Sheriff’s Department. He was also named Alumnus of the Year at Southeastern University and is Chairman of the President’s Roundtable.
He and his wife, Sharon, have celebrated forty-one years of marriage and are blessed with three adult children and nine grandchildren. Blackburn is known for his excitement, motivational and administrative skills, and as a visionary. His prime statement is “Win one more soul to Christ.”
