Reverend Steve Powell
Rev. Steve Powell serves in district ministry as the District Secretary for the Pen-Florida District of the Assemblies of God. He also serves as District Christian Education Director. With over forty-six years in ministry, he has pastored in Illinois, Indiana and Florida. His church experience was primarily urban ministries, leading multi-staff churches. He has served as District Presbyter in Indiana and Florida and as Executive Director of Florida League of Christian Schools. He has also served on numerous boards and committees in both corporate and faith-based sectors. While a student at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, Steve met his wife Kathy. During their forty-six years of marriage, they have been blessed with three children and four grandchildren.
While he has a heart for church ministry, Rev. Powell’s primary call is to be a “pastor’s pastor” through District service. He is driven by His desire to serve God by equipping others in ministry, as evidenced in his belief that “God did not create men for ministry as much as a He created ministries for men.” With a charismatic leadership style, Rev. Powell inspires others to “Grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with both God and man.”
