Reverend Terry Raburn


/files/ExecPics/Raburn_Web.jpgThe Reverend Terrell (Terry) Raburn serves the Body of Christ as the superintendent of the Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God. He facilitates the management of the district, its various ministries and the department leadership. He also has the responsibility to assist approximately 1,400 credentialed ministers and 350 local churches with any issues of the ministry. The Peninsular churches are from South Georgia, east of the Suwannee River and south to Key West and including the Virgin Islands.

Reverend Raburn is a fourth generation preacher. Grandfathers on both sides of his family were pioneers in Pentecost and Charter Members of the Assemblies of God districts in Florida and Georgia. His mother and father were church planters and pastors in the southeast.

/files/ExecPics/TRCalendar.jpgTerry is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology and most recently finished his Master’s degree from Southeastern University. He and his wife, Athena, have served in diverse fields of service for the Lord. Following their marriage, they traveled on the evangelistic field throughout the southeast and then served in Beirut, Lebanon with the Middle East Outreach mission. The war required the mission to relocate so Terry and Athena became pastors. Terry served as Presbyter for the Hillsborough section during his tenure as pastor in Plant City. In 1981, the Peninsular Florida elected Terry to become the District Youth Director and in 1985, the General Presbytery of the Assemblies of God appointed him to become the National Youth Director in Springfield, MO. In 1990, Terry Raburn became the National Director of the Division of Church Ministries in Springfield, Missouri. He was responsible for the Youth; Chi-Alpha; Speed the Light; Women; Missionettes; Men’s, Royal Rangers; Light for the Lost; Music Department; Sunday School; BGMC; Christian Education; as well as development of programs and church educational materials. He traveled on behalf of the fellowship nationwide while serving on many boards nationally. In 1996, Terry Raburn became Superintendent and Home Missions Director of Peninsular Florida.

Athena, also a credentialed minister, holds a degree in Business Administration and together they have authored numerous articles for publications and periodicals in addition the books, Under the Guns in Beirut and Starting Blocks, a discipleship book for teens.

Terry facilitates the Fellowship throughout the nation and serves as a board member to Southeastern University; Native American University; Real Life Children’s Ranch and General Presbyter of the Assemblies of God. He continues to minister at conferences and councils throughout the country and internationally.
